5. The Plane Ride From Hell - May 5th 2002

One of the biggest PR embarrassments in WWE history happened on May 5th 2002 - the infamous plane ride from hell. The WWE tour had been in Europe and were on their way home from Britain to the United States. How did they pass the time of the long flight? With copious amounts of alcohol of course! Things started boiling over with nudity, fighting, sexual behaviour and even syringe usage. This unruly behaviour led to a lawsuit from the stunned flight attendants who had to put up with the likes of an inebriated Ric Flair exposing his penis. The lawsuit also claimed that they had to dispose of used syringes. Perhaps the most dangerous aspect of the flight was Brock Lesnar and Curt Hennig's 'wrestling' contest. The two mammoth men were really going for it in takedowns, with Lesnar dominating Mr Perfect. It was hardly the safest thing to be doing on the plane given Lesnar's power and weight - one takedown against the plane walls could have legitimately buckled the plane door open. Triple H had to step in and tear the men apart. Hennig was released shortly after. It looked really bad on the WWE. Despite Jim Ross, Stephanie McMahon, Gerry Brisco and The Undertaker being present no one had shut the irresponsibility down.
