10 Reasons Randy Orton Is "Mr. Survivor Series"
1. Survivor Series 2016
Injuries and absences kept Orton from the following two Survivor Series, and the less said about his match with Big Show at Survivor Series 2013, the better. When 2016 rolled around, his achievements in years past had become a distant memory, and he was oddly placed with the Wyatt family. Survivor Series 2016 brought back the RAW vs. SmackDown format seen in 2005, and Randy was a representative of team blue. However, no one was expecting much from him.
Like the rest of the show, Randy over-delivered. In an hour-long bonanza of angles and matchups, Randy played his part, delivering beautiful RKOs to Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, and a mid-air frog splash counter to Seth Rollins. In addition, the match sought to get over Bray and Randy as a unit, and it achieved that spectacularly with the final spot featuring Randy getting in front of Bray to take Roman Reigns' spear, allowing Bray to sneak in a Sister Abigail to pick up the victory for Team SmackDown.
And while breaking kayfabe might not be kosher for many fans, it must be noted that Randy had a good guy moment when after Shane McMahon was stretchered out with a concussion, he went aside and assured Shane's son in the front row that his dad was alright. Good Guy Randy.
So this year at Survivor Series, keep an eye on Randall Keith Orton. He just might steal the show.
