10 Reasons Ric Flair Must Retire (For Good This Time)
2. You Bring Out The Very Worst Character Flaws In Us
You bring out the worst in a lot of us. We tune in weekly
and watch you. We see you coming out, and we sometimes don’t feel what we
should do. We don’t feel caring, or concerned about you. We smile sadistically
inside ourselves, darkly relishing the opportunity to laugh at you.
In the same way that we may laugh at some poor unfortunate soul having a bird go to the lavatory on them, we laugh at you, and feel awful for doing so. It’s sick, wrong, and represents the worst in us.
We sit, and we hope, but never admit it, that we might see you do something embarrassing. Maybe square up to Brock Lesnar and get put through a table. Or possibly even something worse, like trying it on with Stephanie McMahon and facing the ire of Triple H. It’s a bleak joy in the discomfort of others which lurks within us all, and we don’t like confronting it. Please stop making us do so.
We’d much rather watch Cesaro spin someone round and round and wonder how dizzy it makes them feel.
