10 Reasons Why Seth Rollins Vs. Triple H Feud Makes Perfect Sense

Even prior to Seth Rollins' abrupt injury, The Authority was already dwindling in numbers. Big Show had broken out on his own, Kane was fired from his position as Director of Operations and exiled from The Authority, and J&J Security were dismantled by Brock Lesnar. Once Rollins went under the knife, that just left Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at the helm of the group.

Of course, that led to speculation The Authority were scouting someone new to be the future face of the company, specifically the Superstar who would win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. As perfect of a fit Roman Reigns would have been, he declined HHH's offer to join the stable, leading to Sheamus cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on him immediately following his title win at Survivor Series.

Based off how Triple H was embracing The Celtic Warrior at the event, it appeared Sheamus was now the newest member of The Authority, replacing Rollins. That was never made official as Sheamus focused on leading League of Nations, but he still had an alliance with the McMahons that led to him holding the title for as long as he did.

Consequently, HHH indirectly sent the message to Rollins that he was merely a placeholder and could be replaced in an instant if he so chose.
