10 Reasons Why WWE’s Future Is Brighter Than You Might Think

1. There Is But One

If CM Punk returns to WWE, the chance of this instigating lasting change are as slim as they were back in 2011, during which time Punk had convinced himself he could make WWE a better place.

He alone didn't have that power. Even now - when his absence has mythologised him, and he would hold all the cards of any theoretical return - WWE would continue to operate as it does. Still - the return pop alone would be absolutely deafening, magical, and Punk's notorious knack for self-preservation would ensure a return on his own terms. It wouldn't be a surprise if he were to demand a degree of creative control in order to safeguard himself against the insidious burials at which WWE remain peerless.

Punk doesn't need WWE. WWE doesn't need Punk. But a WrestleMania match opposite Triple H, the man he buried underground on the Art Of Wrestling podcast, would be the most heated in several years. The silence that cloaks RAW makes one yearn for something truly electric. There can be nothing more electric than a Punk return which, all things considered - Punk's ego, the soothing passage of time, and the money, most importantly - is more inevitable than it is impossible.

Honestly, WWE should throw money at Punk to have him return and leave on more amicable terms purely to stem the tide of this irritating chant phenomenon.
