10 Roster Moves WWE Must Make After SummerSlam 2017

5. Dolph Ziggler To NXT

Dolph Ziggler is still three years shy of 40, but he might be the most washed-up wrestler in WWE today. 'The Show-Off' has been dismal since his big night at Survivor Series 2014 was undone by The Authority's return a few weeks later. Last year's feud with The Miz stands as a notable exceptional, but his work has been insipid for the best part of three years now, and he has expired his use on the main roster.

Ziggler's was one of the first names mentioned as soon as talk of WWE potentially sending Raw and SmackDown stars down to NXT emerged, and it'd be a wise move. Barring a miracle, Dolph isn't going to catch lightning in a bottle twice by stumbling into another storyline of the same calibre as the Miz rivalry, so unless WWE plan on making him a full-on enhancement guy, there's no sense in keeping him on SmackDown.

Moving to NXT would not only allow Dolph to have great matches again, but regain a sense of purpose. His skill, experience, and familiarity make him ideal for a main event gatekeeper role, putting over the next generation of young babyfaces on their road to the NXT Championship, while scoring enough wins to rebuild and maintain his own credibility.
