Mae Young makes for a compelling case study, she truly was one of a kind in WWE's long history. Gaining most fame as a pensioner, the elderly Mae became something of a phenomenon during the Attitude Era for entering a comedic relationship with Mark Henry. The jokes didn't stop there.

At the 2000 Royal Rumble, the then-WWF held a 'Miss Rumble 2000' bikini contest. Names such as Jacqueline, Terri Runnels, and Ivory were to strut around the ring wearing precious little, breaking up the matches on the pay-per-view. Another entrant, The Kat, had even bared her breasts at Armageddon the previous month.

Continuing those shock tactics, the WWF had Mae Young whip off her own underwear and show off some prosthetic breasts to the audience. An unofficial entrant in the bikini contest, Young said to host Jerry Lawler that she wanted to show her "puppies".

Deemed the winner of the competition, Young was then covered up by Henry. Given how seriously WWE take females nowadays, this is one Rumble moment involving women they'd like consigned to history.
