10 Shocking Things You Learn Binge Watching Every ECW PPV

1. There Were Zero Women’s Matches

Nobody's trying to make a big deal out of this, or anything, but it's pretty surprising that ECW didn't present at least one female bout on pay-per-view over the years. This isn't even some damning commentary on how women were viewed in the 1990s - it's more that, well...one would've worked.

Francine vs. Beulah, Dawn Marie or Tammy Sytch would've appealed to ECW's audience if it was carefully handled. Those women did work "cat fight" skits with one another over the years, but they were never put in a proper match. Not even a short, gimmicky one.

The only thing that comes close? Francine randomly pinning Steve Corino at Heatwave '99 after that dire "shoot" business with Tommy Dreamer. Looking back, this guy was a little stunned to find out that Heyman didn't stick a serious Japanese women's match on one of these cards, or go the aforementioned "T&A" route.

Francine is the only woman who wrestled on ECW pay-per-view, and it wasn't even in an official match.
