9. Shawn Michaels Vs. Batista (Backlash 2008)
Batista was supposed to be a face around this time, but when he confronted "selfish" Shawn Michaels for bringing the curtain down on Ric Flair's career, he came off as kind of a prick. Randomly popping up on the opposing show at least made some sense though, what with Dave and Ric being buddies and all.
The feud he and Shawn waged was short and sweet, their showdown at Backlash ending in controversy when HBK faked a leg injury (which somehow compelled Batista to stop attacking him, which may have been a first in professional wrestling's century-long history). If nothing else, it helped pave the way for Shawn's unmissable program in the months that followed with Jericho, who served as the match's special referee.
