The most famous feud in the first part of the 1990s for WCW was Sting vs. Big Van Vader. Vader and Sting seemed to be total opposites in almost every way but they had amazing chemistry in the ring and put on many memorable matches throughout their WCW stints. At Superbrawl 1993, Sting and Vader were booked in a White Castle of Fear Strap Match. While strap matches can be fairly terrible in the wrong hands, these two turned it into an absolutely brutal brawl that featured audience members cringing at the sight and sound of the strap hitting someone. Sting actually whipped Vader so hard with the strap that Vader started bleeding from his back. Sting also bladed at one point in the match which was a pretty major thing since both WCW and the WWF were anti-blood and trying to push their "family friendly" model of professional wrestling. With both guys bleeding and beating the hell out of each other with a leather strap, the main event of Superbrawl certainly wasn't your typical 1993 main event. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1freq7_sting-vs-vader-wcw-superbrawl-iii-21-02-1993-strap-match_sport Eventually, Vader managed to hogtie Sting with the strap and dragged him around the ring like he weighed nothing to win the match. Sting would struggle with Vader for the majority of the year and would have to figure out a way to beat him for the title.
