10 Strangest Times Wrestlers Turned Up In Character Outside Of Wrestling
6. John Cena - Parks And Recreation
It shouldn't have been a surprise to see John Cena on a television show after his role in 2006's The Marine. Still, his part in a Parks and Recreation episode was actually one of the first times he appeared on a network television show, and it didn't happen until 2015. Otherwise, he made short cameos on shows like Hanna Montana and Psych. If anyone expected the 'Master of Thuganomics' to test out his acting chops on an original character here, though, they would have been disappointed.
Introduced as a 'Martial Arts Superstar,' Cena breaks onto the scene with a guitar, ready to entertain. If the Cena fans saw on WWE programming was his real personality cranked up to 11, then his appearance on the show was the character at the threshold of pain.
'The Champ' arrived in his colorful merch, expecting to perform for a child. He was surprised to find out Andy was a full-grown man, but the 16-Time Champ continued anyway until Andy slapped cuffs on his wrist for stealing Johnny Karate's guitar. Although the 'Cenation Leader' argued that he was there as a favor, his thievery landed him in the dunk tank. If that wasn't enough to make any wrestling fan cringe, the man who hardly sold a finisher acted as though the tank was filled with piranhas.
