10 Surprise Comeback Predictions For WWE Raw's 25 Year Celebration

8. The Honky Tonk Man

The Honky Tonk Man was a bizarrely prominent fixture during the embryonic stages of the Attitude Era on Monday Night Raw, brought back by Vince McMahon in late-1996 to 'scout' young talent to take under his supposedly expert wing. The protégé angle was forced upon viewers for months, with Honky making eyes at Rocky Maivia, Flash Funk and 'Double J' Jesse James before settling on almost killing the career of Billy Gunn with a 'Rockabilly' reinvention instead.

He's been a cameo favourite since, rocking up in odd Royal Rumbles as well as spoiling Santino Marella and Heath Slater's fun in harmless comedic asides. Yet another jocular payday potentially awaits in the form of a segment with the red brand's current axeman Elias.

The former 'Drifter' has already seen the odd guitar go up in smoke thanks to back-shots given and received. It seems only fitting for him to take one from the originator.
