10 Surprising Wrestling Inspirations

1. Kenny Omega (Vince McMahon)

A Reddit poster by the name of sludgebeard took the rather gutsy gamble of suggesting that a recent Kenny Omega promo may have been inspired by Vince McMahon himself, but the argument wasn't without merit.

On the post-Revolution edition of AEW Dynamite, the company had to execute quite the make-good to cover for the rotten conclusion to the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch on a night that had already failed to meet pre-sold expectations elsewhere.

Omega brought the goods with a mocking promo at the expense of Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley, drawing comparisons in particular to the point where the Champion got in Kingston's face challenging him to strike first and delivered the line "You won't do it! You don't have the balls!"

'The Best Bout Machine' has named McMahon as one of his favourite wrestlers before, and this had all the hallmarks of a Vince/Steve Austin showdown. Up to and including 'The Mad King' putting him flat on his a*se for running his mouth.
