Yet, for all of the unquestionable brilliance Trips found himself setting into motion as NXT began to pick up steam on the WWE Network and eventually the USA Network, Levesque could still do little more than helplessly watch on whenever his father-in-law opted to bring one of his prized performers up to the big time.
Time and time again, instead of doubling down on what made the likes of Ricochet and Keith Lee the sort of out of this world figures that black and gold supporters had no choice but to lose their damn minds over, Vince McMahon opted to strip away what made them special and shoehorn them into a style and product that was becoming staler by the week.
