7. Having 14 Matches In 3 Hours Is Different
It's pretty to crazy to think that a show had 14 matches take place in only three hours. A typical WWE PPV usually has seven or eight matches. Anything more than that is thought of to be too many because if you have too many matches in three hours there's no way you are going to get a great, long match. Give WWE credit for making a point to say that the first round matches had a ten minute time limit. That's a way to let the audience know there will be a quick pace and you need to pay attention because the finishes are going to be quick. There were 12 tournament matches in total as well as a Women's Title match (won by Sable to give her the Women's Title for the first time) and also the New Age Outlaws retaining their Tag Team Titles in a four way match. There were two matches that went under one minute, while six of them were under four minutes. Steven Regal's match with X-Pac ended in a double countout, which gave Austin a bye into the semifinals and saved them from doing another match. It's the kind of show that really would have benefited from having an extra hour to fit everything in, but they still managed to do a good job of making it entertaining from start to finish.
