10 Things We Learned From Attending WWE WrestleMania 35 Live

7. Almost Everything Is Fun

Your writer has always gleaned a perverse sense of enjoyment from things many would deem bad in this sport. Such is the nature of WWE's Banter Era. It's about finding small moments of entertainment in the piles of sh*t this company regularly serves up, whether that means Baron Corbin troll-job victories or disjointed, messy, stupid battle royals.

Such things are infinitely more palatable and, indeed, enjoyable when experienced in person. In some cases, they actually come off more entertaining than supposedly "better" segments and matches. Take Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles. This was a good, solid, neat and tidy wrestling battle between two old pros who knew exactly what they were doing, but it didn't translate to the stadium environment. What did was The Miz's goofy old dad squaring up to Shane McMahon in a preposterous spot in a preposterous match. Few would argue that said Falls Count Anywhere sham was better than what AJ and Randy put together, but their car crash had more resonance.

Even the Kickoff Show, which your writer would rather skip when watching at home, hit the right notes live.
