Fans who have read Jericho's second book will know how challenging the transition from WCW to the WWF was for him in '99. Looking back, the man himself believes he was still playing that "scenery chewing" heel he'd perfected on Nitro, Thunder and Saturday Night, but it didn't fit Vince McMahon's product.

Austin disagreed, and called Jericho's August '99 debut the "best ever".

Jericho appreciated that, then handed the legendary 9 August bow a rating out of 10. He'd give it 8/10 now, because he thinks there are certain things he could've done better (that petted lip and some of those goofy facials for a start). However, Chris is still infinitely indebted to The Rock for letting him rant on without interruption for a few minutes.

He said that Rocky didn't need to do that. The 'Great One' could've flexed his muscles and told Vince that he wasn't going to stand idly by as this incoming ex-WCW newbie droned on and on. For the record, Austin would give the debut 10/10.
