True story: The Undertaker was a tad humiliated when abseiling down from the rafters at Survivor Series 1996. He had some "bat/dragon" wings made for the pay-per-view and planned to make a spectacular entrance, but then 'Taker rehearsed his moment earlier in the day and found it "disappointing". He still isn't sure exactly what went wrong here, but says it just didn't work and proved to be a low point in his career.

The legend pondered that maybe his sheer physical size worked against him. Later, when Undertaker conveniently had the entrance attire sitting around for the goofy Triple H bit, Stephanie did say that it was even a little snug on her. So, perhaps someone got the measurements wrong and the outfit didn't fit him. That might well explain why he felt so daft wearing it.

McMahon said she was sorry to bring up such a painful memory and a duff moment from 'The Deadman's' storied career. He can laugh it off now, but 'Taker wasn't thrilled at the time and says there's a bit of lingering "PTSD" about the whole experience. That dramatic entrance wasn’t as good a visual as he hoped it’d be on the night, and he also found it flat when watching back on TV afterwards.

D'oh.

Summing it up, Calaway said his grand entrance "sucked". Speaking as a fan, it wasn't that bad, but it defo paled in comparison to the zip line entrance Shawn Michaels had worked at WrestleMania XII, or what Sting would go on to do over in WCW with his own flying in antics. 'Taker was keen to move on as quickly as possible.
