10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Finn Bálor

6. Distancing Himself From Raw

Finn Balor 24
WWE Network

Though the Network special is relatively upbeat and uplifting throughout, there are a couple of saddening shots, one of which comes in the midst of Finn's early rehab. Sat in an Alabama hotel room, the Irishman is shown taking in an episode of Monday Night Raw in his pyjamas, watching his friends and colleagues perform while he is stuck on the shelf.

Bálor started basic rehabilitation (which he describes as “pretty boring”) eight weeks after his injury, so a couple of months had likely passed by the time this scene was filmed. While watching Raw, Finn surprisingly admits that he had distanced himself from the WWE product since the injury, and this was the first show he’d caught in quite some time. It put things into perspective for him, however, and served as “a reminder of what I'm trying to get healthy for.”

While Bálor is portrayed as a spirited, uplifting character throughout the show, the fact that he actively avoided the WWE product during his first few months out implies the injury took a bigger mental toll than he lets on.

If so, it’s understandable that he’d want to take his mind off things by dodging Raw.
