10 Things We Never Thought We’d See In A WWE Ring (But Somehow Did)

You've already heard it 256,980 times before, but it's actually annoyingly true that just about anything can happen in the land of WWE.

But, even with that genuinely being the case, it still often feels like some situations or stars are just not destined to find their way inside of Vince McMahon's legendary ring.

Sometimes these concepts can be so far out of reach that even wrestling fans - the most imaginative bunch of fanatics on planet earth - don't entertain the thought of them ever seriously becoming a reality.

Yet, here we are in 2020 and not only have we just witnessed the first ever empty Performance Center WrestleMania, but we've also just been treated to a Money in the Bank ladder match which took place entirely inside of WWE HQ.

You. Just. Never. Know.

However, not even this recent unexpected turn of events compares to the following.Eternal babyfaces booed, permanently retired legends reborn and even a bloody Scot holding the company's most prestigious title above their head have all left audiences completely stunned over the years.

The good news is, we must've seen it all by now...right?

10. Rey Mysterio Getting Booed

Admittedly, this shocking occurrence was in no way planned by WWE.

Simply put, anyone coming out at number 30 in 2014's Royal Rumble who wasn't called Daniel Bryan was destined to be booed. Vince McMahon had made the insane decision not to put Bryan, the most over star he had in the company at that time, in the match and seemed convinced that the ultimate babyface Rey Mysterio would be able to get the audience onside in the closing stages of this sh*tshow.

He didn't and what happened next was one of the most surreal moments you'll ever see in a WWE ring.

Mysterio - who had never elicited anything less than a giddy sound of approval from the WWE Universe - was mercilessly booed as soon as he entered the titular over-the-top-rope match. It wasn't Mysterio's fault that he wasn't the 'American Dragon', but the fans didn't care. These boos weren't brief, either. They lingered around and not even Mysterio's crowd popping '619' could put an end to the negativity.

Hell, the fans even cheered when Mysterio was eliminated. This all felt like a nightmare come to life as McMahon had somehow found a way to make our loveable hero the pantomime villain on this night.
