10 Things We Never Thought We’d See In A WWE Ring (But Somehow Did)
9. Heel Daniel Bryan, Again
Despite Rey Mysterio getting booed into oblivion for not being Daniel Bryan in that last entry, things all worked out in the end as D-Bry went on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX.
Unfortunately, Bryan would eventually be forced to relinquish the gold due to injury and had to retire altogether in 2016 as result of a lesion in his brain.
Fans were obviously upset that they'd never see Bryan wrestle again in a WWE ring, but his health was the most important thing and we were more than happy to enjoy him in a General Manger role on SmackDown Live.
Fast forward two years and Bryan wasn't only back in a ring wrestling against the likes of Kevin Owens and AJ Styles, he was also now a despicable heel. That very same wrestler who had overcome a serious injury and fought for his dreams had somehow convinced us to boo him out of a building as the new Planet's Champion.
Bryan proved that he had unparalleled mental fortitude in beating the odds like he did. But, he also showed us exactly why he will always be considered as one of the very best performers in the business, after shocking his adoring fans into turn their backs on him just seven months removed from his heartwarming return.
