For a period of time, it looked like AJ Styles would never get a proper shot with WWE. There's a good chance that Triple H is the one behind any proposed hiring of the man, because Styles doesn't exactly reek of somebody Vince McMahon would typically be interested in. He has several things about him which wouldn't appeal to McMahon. First and foremost, AJ isn't immediately physically impressive. He's in good shape, but he's not especially tall or muscular. Secondly, he's also 39 years of age. In a fair world, this shouldn't work against anybody with the pedigree or obvious talent that AJ has, he has a lot to offer the WWE system. Not only does he carry some worldwide recognition, but he'd likely be willing to put over whomever the company wishes. Approaching 40, time was running out on the chances of a successful run in WWE for AJ. Thankfully, it looks like he will be rewarded for his years of hard graft. Whatever WWE eventually decide to do with Styles, he has long deserved a chance at least. As he has shown since leaving TNA, he's far from finished. Even at 39, he's the kind of wrestler any promotion would be proud to have on their books.
