10 Things WWE Must Do This Summer

2. Set Wheels In Motion For The Undertaker's Retirement

For any wrestling fan over a certain age, the mere thought that The Undertaker will someday be forced to hang up the tights is incredibly sad. One of WWE's greatest ever creations, the 'Deadman' is almost intrinsic to the lore of the promotion, and a WWE without him seems inconceivable.

The passage of time cannot be reversed though, and even the great Undertaker must retire sometime. If it's not at WrestleMania 33 (which doesn't appear to be the case, because WWE would surely have kickstarted such talk by now), then it makes sense to imagine that 2018 will be 'Taker's last.

A character like The Undertaker merits a prolonged farewell though; in similar fashion to Ric Flair back in 2008, Undertaker's goodbye should play out over a period of months. In fact, the argument is there for almost a full year of goodbyes.

The simple story of one loss being Undertaker's last match would work, again mimicking what happened with Flair almost a decade ago and letting his fans come to peace with the retirement decision. Then, the man can bring the curtain down on his quite legendary career with class, rather than taking his leave swiftly.
