10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Seth Rollins

7. The Shield Was CM Punk's Idea

How different would the WWE landscape look at the end of 2016 if CM Punk had completely gotten his way and The Shield had comprised of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Kassisus Ohno? Roman Reigns would never have been called up as part of the group, would never have become the silent ass-kicker that everyone loved. It would be extremely different.

More importantly however, WWE would love it if everyone could just forget that their most successful multi-man group of recent times was the brainchild of their least favourite MMA fighter, Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks. Punk was planning on helming this new super-faction, which I'm fairly sure many people subsequently tried putting together on booking simulators worldwide.

Punk is obviously not the most popular guy when it comes to WWE history right now, and as such all of his excellent ideas are best left underneath the carpet. You'll rarely hear Punk mentioned when Michael Cole raves about The Shield.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
