10 Things WWE Will Change Once SmackDown Debuts On Fox
1. Brock Lesnar Becomes WWE Champion
Controversy creates cash, as the executive director of SmackDown once said. And Kofi losing to Lesnar on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX? Well, they better just hope the controversy to cash ratio is one to one.
The shock of Brock winning it AGAIN on SmackDown will be just the type of "surprise" FOX execs will want to have in store for the first Friday night. But don't get out your pitchforks just yet, folks. It might actually be the best Brock reign we have ever witnessed.
With Lesnar reportedly going back to full time wrestling, the opportunity is there to make Lesnar create a lot of cash out of this, sure, but will also likely mean a better, more polished version of Brock in the ring as well.
After all, if he does become champion, he will essentially be the face of SmackDown on FOX, which means he should be giving it 100% everytime in the ring. Something that has been an... elusive concept for Brock when he has dipped in and out of WWE's waters in the past.
FOX will want a fighting champion, and the mix of stardom and legitimate athlete appeal are exactly what they are looking to achieve with WWE's talent going forward. And also probably large doses of The Fiend to remind us it is still professional wrestling, and that can be awesome too.
Somewhere Vince, Bischoff, and FOX executives are all drooling over Lesnar (and Bray Wyatt, strangely enough). And maybe soon, we will understand why a whole lot better.
