10 Things You Didn't Know About John Cena

8. Cena's Film Debut Was Two Years Before His Main Roster Debut

Since age 15, John Cena has been a gym rat, being obsessed with working out. After he finished college around the year 2000, Cena would become an employee of Gold's Gym. He would work from five in the morning until midnight some days doing various jobs such as working the protein bar stand, the check-in desk, and fixing gym equipment. He would then shower at the gym and go to sleep in his 1991 Lincoln Continental (as he couldn't afford an apartment) until it was time to work again. The combination of having experience in a gym, and the fact that Cena was just starting his pro wrestling career for Ultimate Pro Wrestling led to him getting an uncredited role as a gym extra in the wrestling theatrical film Ready To Rumble starring David Arquette and wrestlers such as Diamond Dallas Page, Booker T, Sting, and Goldberg. This short role was two years before he would make his WWE main roster debut in 2002 challenging Kurt Angle to a fantastic match. As you know by now, Cena has starred in a few movies, and helping getting WWE Films off the ground with films such as The Marine in 2006 and 12 Rounds in 2009, but it was a little known fact that he got his start in a wrestling movie of all things before he was famous.
