10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2007

9. Mysterious Circumstances Surround Cryme Tyme Firing

WWE wished Cryme Tyme, who had only made their debut in October 2006, the best of luck in their future endeavours on September 2nd 2007. The release came out of nowhere and a lot of fans were left scratching their heads. Cryme Tyme were a fixture on WWE television and the company were clearly high on their gimmick. And then the real story behind their firing came out. It transpired that the team had legitimate heat with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, whom they were feuding with and working on house shows. There was a backstage altercation between the men before their September 1st house show match with Shad telling Murdoch that 'whatever happens out there, happens'. Obviously this was intimated to be some type of threat, that Shad was going to shoot on Murdcoh, and big Trevor addressed the threat in front of the locker room. During the match JTG was outside the ring during a planned spot and was counted out, which was not planned. Cade and Murdoch had instructed the ref to count him out as a rib to get back at them. Cryme Tyme ended up attacking the referee after the match, in an effort to get their heat back, even giving him the G9 before taking off and auctioning his belt to the crowd. Although the referee was not hurt, he was not a trained wrestler and could have easily been injured in the attack. There was an altercation between Cryme Tyme, the referee, Cade and Murdoch and road agent Barry Windham after the match and Vince made the decision to let the team go.
