8. Los Perros Del Mal
Nine years into his career, in mid-2004, Aguayo formed the stable Los Perros Del Mal ('The Dogs Of Evil') - originally called La Furia del Norte (the Northern Fury) - in Mexican promotion CMLL. The group formed during the culmination of CMLL's main storyline when Aguayo (who was a tecnico) turned on his partners Negro Casas and Shocker and sided with the rudo side instead. The group, with their odd combination of cowardly tactics and cool mannerisms, were an instant hit and soon began to rival CMLL's other top heel faction, Los Guerreros. Aguayo was their leader and undoubtedly the star of the group. He was, for lack of a better term, a prick every single week. And the fans both loved and hated him for it. Los Perros Del Mal were one of the best nWo-inspired groups ever and were responsible for drawing huge houses (13-15,000 to Arena Mexico every week) in the mid-2000s. They also sold a lot of merchandise, and even American fans with only a passing interest in Lucha were known to order the excellent Perros Del Mal t-shirt. It was a truly hot period for CMLL and Mexican Wrestling in general, a period that enabled Aguayo to become one of the biggest stars in the industry. Over the years there were many members of the faction, including the likes of Teddy Hart and L.A. Park, but they never managed to upstage Aguayo.
