10 Times The PPV After WrestleMania Was Better

3. SummerSlam (1992)

WrestleMania VIII is arguably the most disappointing Mania in WWE history for one reason and one reason only. The dream match of Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair did not take place. The reason for this remains unclear to this day, but rumours of cataclysmic egos getting in the way have refused to go away even 23 years on. This disappointment tarnished what in all reality was a really good Mania. You just can't get that thought of 'what might have been' out of you head when watching it. Mania eight saw the double main event of Hogan vs. Sid Justice and Flair vs. Macho Man Randy Savage; The Undertaker vs. Jake The Snake Roberts, Roddy Piper vs. Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship and a young Shawn Michaels defeating El Matador, known better to you and me as Tito Santana. The following SummerSlam, held at London's Wembley Stadium, was dominated by two matches, one of which produced one of the most memorable moments in WWE history. Earlier in the night, Macho Man defended his WWF Championship against The Ultimate Warrior with Madness winning via count-out. The main event then pitted Bret Hart against The British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Champion. As I'm sure you'll be aware, there weren't too many dry eyes in the house at its conclusion.
