10 Times Vince McMahon Humiliated WWE Champions

4. Going Sour On The Miz Once Others Caught His Eye (2011)

Previously, Mike Mizanin had been considered a laughing stock to many inside and out of WWE. For years, people lambasted The Miz for 'playing a wrestler', instead of being an effective part of the roster that fans could take seriously. In 2007, he started to shift opinions of himself by forming a fine tag-team alongside John Morrison. By 2010, he had dramatically changed the course of his career. That year, The Miz was one of the most consistently entertaining faces on WWE television. Fans started to dig his loudmouth persona, one which lifted elements of The Rock (referring to himself in third person) and even Ric Flair (always talking about how great he was). At the Money In The Bank pay-per-view in July, he snatched a briefcase, one he'd cash in on Randy Orton to become WWE Champion that November. It really seemed like Vince McMahon had found his new top heel, someone he could rely on to berate fans and get under their collective skin. Much like some other heel champions however, McMahon never really put his full faith behind The Miz. Facing John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII, he was overshadowed by Cena's ongoing problems with The Rock. Mere months later, he was beaten for the title by Cena at Extreme Rules. The Miz has not made it back up the WWE Title ladder since, and his career is in mid card limbo. It really seemed that Vince was high on Miz, until he needed something to beef out The Rock's rematch with Cena. That doesn't show confidence in the man's abilities.
