10 Times Vince McMahon Humiliated WWE Champions

3. Randomly Having A Change Of Heart With The Ultimate Warrior (1991)

WrestleMania VI remains one of the most memorable WWF/WWE shows in living memory. The headline bout pitted The Ultimate Warrior against Hulk Hogan. Both were the top babyfaces in the entire company, with Warrior as Intercontinental Champion and Hogan holding the WWF Heavyweight belt. 'Mania was to be a changing of the guard, as Warrior defeated Hulk to become the new champ. Vince McMahon was serious at the time about putting the full weight of the WWF machine behind Warrior's title run. It wouldn't put to be quite as successful, or lengthy, as Hogan's. Warrior had been considered the star who would lead the WWF through the new decade of the 90's, but he barely even made it to the following year. At the 1991 Royal Rumble, he dropped the title to Sgt. Slaughter. Suddenly, all talk of Warrior being the next big thing ceased. Hogan made a comeback, defeating Slaughter at WrestleMania VII to bag the gold. Meanwhile, Warrior floundered, and he was hardly even around in the promotion going forward. When the WWF was lacking ideas in 1996, he did make a brief return, but he was never the top guy ever again.
