And yeah... while we're all here that whole title unification mess is in your head, here's the third story of Lawler losing a belt.

Once upon a time, a man named Eddie Crawford worked the same regional territories as Jerry Lawler and, for a while, was even trained by him. His gimmick was, as a black man, to wear all white ring-gear and go around calling himself Snowman, which eventually led to an angle between him and his former trainer, where he alleged Lawler stopped him getting opportunities because of his skin colour. This ended, as it should, with him beating Lawler for the USWA Championship.

However the match didn't really do much to alter the two men's standings with the company, and even without the belt Lawler would regularly main-event above the champion. Eventually the kayfabe displeasure Crawford had felt towards The King manifested into something approaching genuine frustration, and he left the promotion with the title still in his possession.

Vanishing seemingly off the face of the earth, the belt was nowhere to be found for a number of years until it was eventually purchased by a fan who still, to this very day, owns it.

This concludes your Jerry Lawler Loses Belts TED Talk.
