10 Times Wrestlers Refused To Accept Certain Finishes
1. Hulk Hogan (SummerSlam 1993)
In some ways it’s difficult to blame Hart, because it seems he was on the other side of the fence more than once during his career.
Back in 1993, Hart was seemingly the victim of Hulk Hogan’s refusal to do business, after the WWF Champion decided he didn’t want to lose the belt to the Canadian because he “wasn’t in his league.”
After Hart had dropped the title to Yokozuna at WrestleMania, only for Hogan to win it immediately after, the Hitman and the Hulkster were scheduled to meet at SummerSlam for the belt. However, Hogan’s reported politicking saw him instead lose the belt to the 500-plus pounder Yokozuna—who apparently was much closer to the champ’s league.
Though Hart then beat Yoko at SummerSlam, Hogan’s refusal to drop the belt to him directly was a huge slap in the face. And to top it all off, Hart provides the icing on the cake in his autobiography, noting how Hogan had said after WrestleMania IX “thank you, brother. I won’t forget it. I’ll be happy to return the favor.”
Or not…
