10 Times Wrestlers Stole An Opponent’s Finisher (& Did It BETTER)

1. Roman Reigns - The Stomp (WWE RAW, March 2025)

Contrary to the other entries on this list, Seth Rollins does not deliver a damning rendition of the Curb Stomp. It is a brickhouse of a spot: at its roots, Rollins is leaping into the air in preparation for stomping an opponent's head into the canvas. There is no protection. Wrestlers were oftentimes spiked upright upon Seth's foot forcing them downwards. It was a move so dangerous that WWE sent it to the dungeon for several years, never to be seen.

Roman Reigns' version was just better.

Unleashing the insta-kill on Rollins after aiding him to victory in a Steel Cage match - he viciously dragged Seth through the cage door in a genuine contender for one of WWE's all-time great camera shots - Reigns decided against the traditional method with which Rollins would come crashing down upon his opponent's neck. While Seth would use the back of a foe's neck to assist his vertical leap, Roman opted to take a running start, lunge in, and come down with all his might across Rollins' head, the equivalent being Peter Griffin having his head caved in with an anvil.

Like the Family Guy patriarch, there was nothing Seth could do: he was done for.

Until, like Peter, he came back the next week because professional wrestling is all one big work.
