10 Times Wrestlers Thought They Were Fired For Sure
4. Titus O'Neil
On a night in 2016 that should've been remembered as a fitting send-off to the then-seemingly-retired-for-good Daniel Bryan, it was one very important person's reaction to a clearly harmless gesture that stole the headlines.
Soon after Titus O'Neil had gotten playfully physical with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon on national television, it became apparent that the boss was most definitely not in the mood for joshing. One arm block and a "Ladies first" later, O'Neil was handed a 60-day suspension. Yet, had it not been for the likes of Triple H and Joey Mercury talking down the irate boss, there's a good chance Titus Worldwide would've gone out of business right there and then.
Though he still didn't understand how things blew up to the extent they did, O'Neil served his suspension and continued to work for the company despite no doubt feeling as though he was wrestling on borrowed time.
Fast forward five years and the WWE Global Ambassador has become one of the latest names to claim the Warrior Award at the most recent WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, so we guess this utter nonsense is all water now firmly under the bridge.
