10 Times WWE Cruelly Teased What We Really Wanted
2. ECW Stars Being Taken Seriously
One of the most important promotions in the history of wrestling came in the form of Paul Heyman's frequently pulsating ECW. Here, a whole host of stars were born under the bright lights of the ECW Arena in Philadelphia. However, things didn't always go to plan for the "originals" when they decided to ply their trade in Vince McMahon's empire.
Things would regularly start out well enough, with the likes of Tazz, Raven, Sabu and many more all hitting the ground running with strong debut appearances. But, before long, WWE always found a way to undermine the talents who first made a name for themselves in 'The Land of Extreme' and rarely followed through on teases of them becoming serious players.
Tazz in particular seemed destined to make a lasting impact on WWE TV, besting Kurt Angle in a dominant Royal Rumble debut match, and even winning and parading the ECW World Championship around on WWE shows for a spell. But one devastating Triple H defeat later, his mystique and hopes of being considered a top guy in WWE had been destroyed.
We'll always have One Night Stand, I guess...
