10 Times WWE Failed To Pass The Torch

This failed passing of the torch moment has nothing but awful timing to blame for its existence.

WWE legends Trish Stratus and Lita had been lending their sizeable star power to one of the company's hottest prospects in Alexa Bliss during the pair's feud with Bliss and Mickie James in 2018.

A tag match was scheduled to take place at Evolution - the first ever all women's PPV in WWE history - with the clear objective of the clash being to hand Bliss the mantle and thus cement her as WWE's newest women's flag-bearer.

Yet, despite the build-up teasing what surely would have been an entertaining and engaging changing of the guard, Bliss was sadly pulled from the bout due to a concussion she received at a live event.

Alicia Fox took up her spot in the match and Stratus and Lita would claim the victory on the night, with Bliss relegated to the role of manager to James and Fox.

If Bliss had been fit and healthy, you can't imagine that WWE would have booked the old legends to go over such a promising star and instead Bliss could have been entrusted to take the division forward as one of its new standard bearers.

She soon found herself having to hold down an on-screen role without being an active performer for a while and her blossoming rise to prominence was stunted through no fault of her own.

Injuries suck.
