10 Times WWE Fans' Worst Fears Came True
6. The Miz Is An Afterthought
Not many of us were Miz fans back in 2011, to be fair, but even those of us who weren't on board with the Awesome One's awesomeness knew that the WWE Champion playing gooseberry in his own WrestleMania main event was a bad look for the industry.
With The Rock slated to be the night's guest host, and an encounter of some kind with John Cena (really, the only guy on the current roster worthy - in terms of profile - of standing across from him in the ring) absolutely, 100% inevitable, the fear was that Miz would become little more than an afterthought.
This prediction, unfortunately, wasn't challenged at the show itself, the resulting headlines of which were almost exclusively focused on Rock and Cena butting heads rather than the fact that this former Tough Enough rookie had just picked up the biggest win of his life.
It's impossible to say whether this had any lasting effect on Miz's career - he hasn't worn the World Title again since, though that is certainly not for a lack of crowd reaction - but it undeniably put a damper on his big night (and, by extension, all of ours).
