9. Distorting His Voice
For better or for worse, WWE refrained from having Sting talk in his first few on-air appearances for WWE. He simply stood in the ring or at the top of the stage and pointed his baseball bat at Triple H or the WrestleMania sign. Although he was never the strongest mic worker, he improved immensely on the stick during his time in TNA. Thus, it was unknown how he'd fare with a live mic in his hands in WWE. After months of showing up at random, Sting finally spoke for the first time since arriving in the organization on the March 9 edition of Raw. However, it was during a video package highlighting his illustrious career where his voice was oddly distorted. It was a sweet vignette for The Vigilante, but the distorted voice was a major distraction for viewers. What were officials so afraid of anyway when they decided against having him use his real voice? That it wasn't enigmatic enough? Sting would speak without an altered tone to his voice the very next week on Raw when he returned to save Randy Orton from The Authority, so the reason why his voice was changed the week prior was never made clear.
