10 Times WWE Immediately Broke Its Own Rules

1. Baron Corbin Loses Power

On December 17, 2018, the McMahon family removed Acting General Manager Baron Corbin from power.

It was a storyline means of telling us that they'd absolutely shagged it, and WWE fans wildly celebrated the McMahon family's verbal humiliation of Baron Corbin as if he'd written RAW, for the love of f*cking Christ. In a move that was always going to create more memes than viewers, they told us that "we" were the Authority now, while also telling us that "the days of absentee management are over".

That wasn't true of Stomping Grounds at which we, management, failed to turn up despite half-price and two-for-one ticket offers, and at the same pay-per-view, Baron Corbin used the power that was taken from him to appoint Lacey Evans as Special Guest Referee.

*Record scratch*

Wait a minute.

Who gave Corbin this power?

How was Corbin able to stack the odds in his favour? Did Vince McMahon give it the OK, lulled by Stupid Sexy Baron? Did Shane OK it, onscreen around the same time, under the all-heels-are-buddies principle? Did Stephanie try to slap him for breaking the rule, but couldn't reach, because he's so tall, which further impressed her father?

Or does sh*t just happen for the goddamn sake of it?
