As a company, it's safe to say that World Wrestling Entertainment have been known to push things to the extreme from time to time... for better or worse.

But let it be known that not every single barmy and controversial concept pitched to the various folks in charge of the Sports Entertainment machine has been swiftly given the green light before being unleashed onto its unsuspecting Universe.

As hard as it may be to believe, given the fact this is the same promotion that has let loose everything from reality blurring and highly insensitive addiction storylines to folks being thrown off the top of cages in the name of "entertainment", some wrestler ideas have actually been deemed to be a bit too intense or insane even for WWE.

For a whole host of reasons, WWE simply did not think having their stars take part in the following moments of high-risk in-ring drama or be at the centre of these truly jaw-dropping narrative detours was "best for business".

So, buckle up, folks, because if you thought Vince McMahon's idea of "entertaining" was odd, wait 'til you get a load of what these nutty wrestlers wanted to throw into the mix.

10. WWE Didn't Give Becky Lynch The Maternity Ward Attack She Wanted

Throughout pretty much the entirety of her time away from the squared-circle due to growing a human in her belly, fans found themselves relentlessly speculating how and when Becky Lynch would return to the world of Sports Entertainment.

But they weren't the only ones who spent many a night fantasising over how The Man would come back around. Lynch herself actually came up with an utterly bonkers concept during her time away from the spotlight, one that consisted of her being attacked in a maternity ward not long after giving birth.

That's all according to WWE's current co-CEO Stephanie McMahon, who recalled this conversation going down between herself and Lynch during an appearance on The Bill Simmons podcast last year.

As McMahon would recall:

"I kept talking to Becky all during her pregnancy, then afterwards she was actually pitching somebody jumping her in the maternity ward."

This obviously wouldn't come to pass in the end, with WWE instead opting to throw Big Time Becks into the SummerSlam 2021 card out of the blue a few months after said pitch came to light.

But if Becky had it her way, The Man would've resurfaced in the thick of a mad maternity melee for the ages.
