10 Times WWE Stopped Wrestlers Going Too Far

4. WWE Wouldn't Allow Liv Morgan To Get "Dark"

While she may be enjoying something of a wander onto the dark side over on SmackDown as of late, WWE weren't always that keen on the concept of Liv Morgan exploring a character that was on the "opposite side of the spectrum" to her go-to bubbly on-screen personality.

A few years before the former SmackDown Women's Champion could be found brutalising Sonya Deville or relishing the extreme with Ronda Rousey, Liv would confess to FOX Sports that she had been pitching for a darker edge of her persona to come to light for a while.

With Morgan being off television for a spell around the time that was covered in her Liv Forever documentary, the star would admit to throwing one rather specific idea at management during this period that centred around "the struggles of (her) childhood":

"So, I wanted to use this character as an outlet to express, maybe, suppressed emotions, you know? I just wanted to use this character as an outlet to show an opposite spectrum of Liv, you know?"

Yet, WWE were seemingly happy to stick with Morgan being a plucky, smiling babyface in the time between said pitches and crossing paths with The Baddest Woman on the Planet this year.

Will Morgan now finally get the chance to delve into the darkness in the coming months? Only time will tell...
