10 Times WWE Took Away The ONE Thing That Got Wrestlers Over
1. Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch charmed the entire wrestling world by foregoing WWE's usual over-the-top characterisation and going back to the basics. Her steely run as 'The Man' between the summer of 2018-WrestleMania 35 in 2019 was unmatched, but did draw comparisons to greats from yesteryear like 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
Then, 'adding personality' became a problem.
Cracks began to appear when WWE jettisoned Becky's original defiance and had her act all lovey-dovey with real-life man Seth Rollins. Suddenly, the independent badass character Lynch had played was replaced by a lovesick teenager who was more likely to kiss behind the bike shed than dominate everyone in her path, and WWE didn't stop there.
Becky started wearing goofy, large sunglasses everywhere, and even borrowed Jerry Lawler's crown for a zany guest commentary spot. WWE went too cartoony with her instead of sticking to the straight-ahead rebel vibes that made Lynch one of the most talked about stars in the biz.
