10 Times WWE Totally Trolled You
1. Everything Roman Reigns Has Done Since 2015
Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny that WWE have used Roman Reigns as a means of regularly trolling their fanbase for the past two years. He’s one of the most despised babyfaces of all-time, and while Reigns, personally, has done nothing wrong, there’s little chance his popularity will ever turn back in the right direction.
It started at the 2015 Royal Rumble, when Reigns was jeered out of the building as the Rumble winner. Not even the presence of his cousin, The Rock, could save Roman from the outrage, and it continued from there. WWE made him wrestle Daniel Bryan, the fan’s choice, with his Rumble-earned title shot on the line shortly after, but it was just another exercise to put Roman in the spotlight, and he wrestled for the belt at WrestleMania 31.
Seth Rollins’ cash-in saved fans the pain of a Reigns coronation that night, but little changed. Roman continued as one of the company’s most consistently pushed superstars, and entered the 2016 Rumble as WWE Champion. He lost the belt only so that he could win it back in WrestleMania 32’s main event, and his “I’m not a good guy,” speech was as blatant as troll jobs get.
WWE most recently used Roman to troll the fans by having him enter this year’s Rumble at 2017, proving that they haven’t grown tired of the tactic yet.
