Becky Lynch was enjoying something of a rise to prominence towards the end of 2018 and her excellent feud with Charlotte Flair had positioned the Irish native alongside Ronda Rousey as one of the top women in the company.

Regardless of the limp brand supremacy storyline reasons for the pair's eventual clash at that year's Survivor Series, fans were still champing at the bit to see this mega money match between 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet' and 'The Man'. That was until Nia Jax decided to sock Lynch for real and give her a broken face/concussion, which then forced her out of competition for a while.

Though our dreams of this super clash were dashed by Jax, this did force WWE into booking a worthy replacement in the form of Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey - a match worthy of main eventing a big four PPV in its own right.

This match would be Rousey's real coming out party and she more than held her own against arguably the greatest performer in women's wrestling history.

Despite the match coming to a close due to Flair snapping at the realisation that she would not be able to put Rousey away on the night, it still screamed big-time bout and it's remarkable to think that we wouldn't have been treated to it if not for Lynch's face being destroyed.
