10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (23 Feb)
7. Eye For An Eye
With Brian Myers still 'suffering' from his traumatic eye injury initially suffered at the hands of Fallah Bahh, 'The Most Professional Wrestler' revealed his new lawyer - Mark Sterling. The same Mark Sterling who provided legal services for MJF in the build to last year's AEW All Out.
Sterling insisted that Myers wasn't cleared to compete, with Hernandez replacing him. A reasonably standard match followed, with 'Supermex' laying out Eddie with ease. His Get Off Me shoulder tackle remains the biggest highlight from every Hernandez appearance, this particular one dropping Eddie on his neck. It took a superplex and a top-rope Boston Knee Party to put Hernandez down, with a bout between Eddie and Myers being made for next week with Matt Cardona as the guest referee.
Why's that so important? Because Scott D'Amore initially implied it would be an Eye For An Eye Match, before refuting the idea because it was the, and I quote, "dumbest thing he could ever think of". Your writer is always a fan of these little digs, so long as they're not frequent. A standard match in an otherwise alright storyline.
