10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Mar 3)
4. Gunn's Gut Check
The second episode of the revamped Gut Check series proved to be far superior to the first episode, with Tony Gunn (sadly not Tony Gunk of Impractical Jokers fame) proving to be a thorn in the side of John E. Bravo. This writer is still shocked that Bravo appears like he does on Gut Check, then continues to wander around ringside with Taya Valkyrie wearing these bright costumes. Put him in this role on our screens, and he'd be fantastic.
Back to Gunn, though. He seemed to have what it takes to be an Impact star, and very well could've been signed, had it not been for one small mistake he made. He spat in the training ring, showing immediate disrespect to everyone involved in the training programme. To say Bravo was beside himself would be an understatement. It may seem like a small thing, but seeing as this was his first time receiving such a life-changing opportunity, it's a mistake he shouldn't have made.
He wasn't necessarily kicked out of the competition, however, don't be expecting to see Tony Gunn on any Impact show any time soon. Unless he's jobbing out to Moose, Michael Elgin, or *insert big guy name here*, that is. That said, having these sorts of interactions in Gut Check is much needed to make it an enjoyable segment of the show. Who knows what the winner gets (an Impact contract and/or championship match, presumably), but that shouldn't be a worry for Tony Gunn, at least.
