10 Ups And Downs For WWE In 2014

5. Lesnar Demolishes Cena At SummerSlam

Part-time champ or not, Brock Lesnar€™s dismantling of John Cena at SummerSlam remains one of the biggest stand-out moments of the year. When Michael Cole calls it the most lopsided WWE title match in history (at least between two major competitors), he€™s really not exaggerating. As a match, Lesnar versus Cena wasn€™t much more than Brock hitting Cena with 16 German suplexes and just toying with him for 15-plus minutes. But it was something new and different: John Cena getting an a**-kicking that he couldn€™t rise above and overcome. When was the last time fans saw something like that happen with Cena? Sure, he€™s lost matches before, but there€™s usually some kind of shenanigans or it€™s a seesaw battle that could have gone either way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRXdMnjkoAE And four months later, Cena still hasn€™t gotten his revenge for that match. Maybe it€™ll come at Royal Rumble, but for one moment in time, we got to see that WWE and John Cena know how to unequivocally put someone over.
