10 Ways To Make WWE's Brand Split 2016 A Success
1. Don't Allow NXT To Be Pillaged
Nobody can deny the rapid growth of WWE's supposed developmental product, NXT. Fueled by a roster comprised of some of the world's best performers and up-and-coming stars, NXT has clearly reached unprecedented heights. Unfortunately, that could be under threat.
A brand split essentially means there will be two main rosters, both of which will require an influx of new talent over time to keep the product fresh. Although the main roster will receive a much-welcome boost from Superstars returning to injury, you could still argue that there isn't enough main event talent to be spread across two brands. That's where NXT comes in.
As it stands, there is hardly enough main event talent in NXT to afford giving up anybody to the main roster. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe have been carrying the top tier picture for months; if they are promoted, as is likely the case, NXT will be forced into placing the championship on an unestablished star (in NXT at least).
If NXT loses its top stars to the draft, the interest will wane and the product will suffer as a whole. Instead, WWE should focus on working with what talent it has until NXT can at least establish a new crop of main-eventers.
