10 Ways To Make WWE's Brand Split 2016 A Success
8. Defend The Women's/Tag Team Championship On Both Shows
Rather than adding alternative women's and tag team belts, WWE could use the new brand split to create a unique inter-brand championship situation.
Both the Women's Championship and Tag Team Championship should be able to be defended on both Raw and SmackDown, essentially allowing the champions to pick and choose their opponents for the first time.
That scenario alone opens the door for a multitude of story possibilities, and not just ones that involve the titles.
While the championships are being used in stories on the adjacent show, the women and tag teams can be used in heated feuds to build their reputations (ala The Club vs The Usos, Enzo and Cass vs The Dudley Boyz). By the time the championship stories on the opposite show have been completed, there are ready-made contenders to step up to bat.
The Tag Team and Women's Championships have always been at the back of fans' minds when it comes to title interest (despite the rebranding of the Women's Championship). Throwing in a different stipulation could be just the thing to springboard the titles up the importance scale.
